I’m so excited to share this Shelter Gardens senior session with you today! When Stella reached out about senior photos, I was absolutely excited. Her best friend had reached out the week before, so I just couldn’t wait to work with her as well! Having high school seniors asking me to photograph this special time of their life is so rewarding! There is just something so special about senior sessions. I love how I can take the senior’s interest and create a photo experience that captures those interests while also creating beautiful images for them to reflect on for years to come. It makes me so happy!
Stella is a 2022 high school senior graduating from Fr. Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia. Her future plans include either going to Mizzou or Arkansas to study something like business! She dances for her high school and plays soccer! For her session, we went to downtown Columbia and Shelter Gardens! She wanted a place with pretty flowers, and these two locations did not disappoint!
We started her senior session by the court house in downtown Columbia, Missouri. We used the infamous white wall by the court house as well as their landscaping and architectural structures to our advantage! Then, we traveled a few blocks away to a hidden gem. The flower house and coffee shop had all the flowers that Stella was looking for in her sessions, but we headed to Shelter Gardens right after this for more flower fun! On our way back to our cars though, we found a lady passed out in the street. After calling the police and assuring the woman was conscious and safe, we continued with the session. This was definitely a first for me, and I’m glad we had help around us to make sure everyone was in good hands.
At Shelter Gardens, I stuck Stella in quite a few bushes. She didn’t mind and the photos are AH-MAZING. Just look at the glow in the images and how cool it looks to have the flowers all around her! This location was the perfect ending to a perfect day for a perfect senior. And can we talk about her outfits! *insert heart eyes* I’m in love with her yellow romper and boots!
Stella, thank you for trusting me to capture these memories for you! I wish you the very best in your future endeavors. Enjoy the rest of your senior year and embrace everything that comes your way!
I hope you all enjoy a little sneak into Stella’s senior session:
