Ashley | A Spring Senior Session at Grindstone Nature Area + Shelter Gardens in Columbia, Missouri

Ashley’s session was full of flowers, overcast skies, and pop-up rain showers! This sure didn’t stop us from creating some BEAUTIFUL senior portraits. Her original session date was in October, but conflicts kept making us reschedule, and we ultimately pushed it back to the spring. I’m so glad we did!! Ashley is such a light and I hope you can see it in the images below.

Ashley is a 2021 high school senior graduating from Northeast R-IV School District! She reached out to me in the fall of 2020 for her senior session, and we had originally planned a date in October when the fall colors were at their peak. Unfortunately, the crazy Missouri weather (and the pandemic) made us reschedule all the way to the spring. Honestly, I’m so glad we did! She was my first senior session for the spring season, and my first ever as a FULL TIME senior photographer. It was going to be perfect, and honestly it pretty much was!

We did have a chance of rain in the forecast, and while we did have heavy rain clouds and a few showers pop up, this young woman absolutely rocked her session. I love how we were able to be so creative with all the flowering trees’ blooms. The rain even added a nice little touch to some of her images too! We took the first half of her photos and Grindstone Nature Area and then transitioned to Shelter Gardens! Both are some of my go-to photography spots in town! The overall look of her outfits and the locations created such a cohesive look that I know she is proud of! Check out some of my favorites below!
