Jerrison + Houston | Lyon College Couple’s Session | Columbia, MO Photographer

I am so excited to share this Lyon College couple’s session with you today! Jerrison and Houston have been dating for over a year now, and asked me to take their pictures to celebrate such a milestone! Couple’s sessions are one of my most favorite genres of photography. There is something so special about witnessing the love and chemistry between two people first hand! Getting to capture these emotions in an image that lasts forever is absolutely priceless and so rewarding.

Lyon College Couple’s Session

Jerrison and Houston hold a special place in my heart. Houston is my brother, and when I had just come off of maternity leave and just purchased a new Sony a7iii camera, he was extra generous to allow me to practice my photography skills. I was super thankful for this moment of willingness from my brother, especially since the weather wasn’t very pleasant. We had just one day to squeeze the photoshoot in, and it happened to be on the windiest and coldest day ever! Nevertheless, we still got some amazing images during the short time we spent outside at Lyon College!

One of my most favorite spots for the photos was out by the pond near the blooming magnolia tree. I had always wanted to stick a couple in between the branches to create a window effect with the blooms. I finally got my chance and I think I nailed it! I also love how comfortable and in-the-moment these two were in all of their photos. It just gives me all the warm, lovey vibes!

Houston – thank you so much for modeling for me and for bearing the cold weather. I know taking pictures can seem miserable sometimes, but your sister appreciates it very much!

Jerrison – thank you for being able to push my brother out of his comfort zone and for braving the cold weather for me!

I hope you all enjoy this little peek into this cute couple’s session!
