I’m so excited to share an August Senior Session in Columbia with you today! Ava is the whole reason I decided to continue photographing seniors in Columbia after moving to West Plains. Knowing that my work was appreciated and that I had a chance to continue to support and encourage seniors after a move was encouraging! I just couldn’t wait to work with Ava, and her session did not disappoint! I can’t wait to share more about her session below.

An August Senior Session in Columbia

One of the best times to take your senior portraits is in the summer, right before school. It’s a time when you’re super excited about *finally* being a senior, yet not too busy to have a life outside of school. This is exactly when Ava scheduled her session! It was a capital HOT day in August, but the summer florals were at their peak, which made for some magical portraits. We began the evening at Downtown Columbia where I had her pose with *my* “famous” white wall and the florals at Acola Coffee Company. After stopping for a quick refresher, we then headed towards Shelter Gardens to finish the evening.

Shelter Gardens never disappoints. They have such lovely florals and structures that it was so easy to create beautifully different portraits. And the glow that comes through the trees is absolutely magical.  One of my favorite things to do to seniors is have them pose close (or sometimes in) a bush with flowers. As you can see, the results are always so so good!

Ava, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these precious memories for you! You are so sweet, and it was great getting to know you better. I wish you the very best during your senior year!
